Data Driven Service Design: A Workshop Series Professor: Jodi Forlizzi, Professor and Geschke Director, HCI Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA Teaching Assistant: Laura Varisco
Technology, especially interactive communication technology, has drastically changed industry, driving it to transition from a manufacturing, product/goods dominant perspective on business to a new service dominant perspective. In addition, designers must now account for a data-enabled perspective that adds additional consideration to how services might be designed.
Each class will include a one hour pre-work and a one hour online session, two hours in total. On Thursdays, 45 minutes of open office hours will take place on Zoom to answer additional questions.
Pre-work will take the form of reviewing materials sent by Jodi and preparing homework to send back. Pre-work should be sent by Monday 8am EDT and Wednesday 8am EDT. Pre-work can be pre-recorded video, a text document, slides, or any format that is easy for students to share content.
