The course aims at presenting a multifaceted topic, which is that of the quantitative assessment of cognitive biases and affective states. Such a process involves many different disciplines, such as neuroscience, social and behavioural psychology, linguistics, affective computing, machine learning and data analytics. The course aims at presenting an integrated vision of this challenging research with a multi-disciplinary teachers’ pool that will be able to provide insights on all aspects. The fil rouge of the course will be data analytics, as major advances in the field of cognitive bias assessment are enabled by appropriately fusing the multi-modal information coming from the different sources and processing the resulting data with appropriate techniques.
The course aims at providing a wide spectrum presentation of these fascinating topics, covering the most relevant aspects with lectures given by leading experts in the field, with the aim of presenting to prospective students the instruments to understand the open problems and challenges and have a chance to link them to their research path.
The course will be conceptually divided into two parts of 2.5CFU each. The first one will be also offered as a stand-alone course with the "Complementary Skills" offer of the Doctoral School.
The structure the course will be as follows:
