Programma dettagliato e risultati di apprendimento attesi

In these last few years, the retail spaces represented the visible side of new policies of economic exchange. The continual growth of competition, the excess of production, the new technology, and consumer behaviour have caused an important transformation and evolution in retail store. The new stores have given up their role as a place of consumption to become a place of cultural exchange. The concpt store is a place where we can see the products of fashion related to food, art and design, but also to services and pieces of factory heritages tend to become staged.

In an interdisciplinary perspective, the course program aims to cover the design process of distribution formats, taking as reference the experiential dimension of the store, in its communicative value and not just distribution. The main points of the design process are the coherence of the format with the reference brand, the market (final consumer), the location (place, space, etc..), the content (products, services, sales staff). The course will be enriched by a series of case studies that represent the most significant experiences in the various existing distribution formats. Research on display languages to define new retail spaces within the fashion industry Aims: Realization of a retail space and related retail concept book, the latter with the aim of creating a support capable of facilitating the connection between the philosophy of the project concept and future makers of different installations and shop-windows in the store. Students will be required to work in team to design fashion retail  solutions .
