The aim of the course is to provide the competences needed to perform the preliminary design of a payload instrument for a space mission, starting from given mission objectives and requirements. The course is divided in two modules which target complementary aspect of the payload design.
Payload Design A will focus on the requirements derivation and on the design process.
Payload Design B will focus on the technological design, mainly mechanical, thermal and electronical.
The course includes traditional classroom lectures, numerical laboratory sessions and design laboratory session.
