Programma dettagliato e risultati di apprendimento attesi

Interaction with digital information has now gone beyond conventional devices. Users communicate with devices using gestures, body movements, speech, or manipulating physical objects. Interfaces are personalized and adapt their content to users’ needs by means, for example, of Recommender Systems.

This course leverages a wide spectrum of knowledge from different disciplines (including human computer interaction, multimedia, artificial intelligence, data mining, recommender systems). It accounts for 10 CFU and is composed of 2 modules, each one of 5 CFU running for the entire semester.

  • Module “AUI: Interaction” . This module focuses on interaction paradigms “beyond the desktop” (mobile, motion-based, touch, tangible, robot-based), discussing their rationale, technology, design principles, and main application domains. This module also addresses the process of interaction and interface design, presenting some general methodologies of Human Computer Interaction for requirements management, design, prototyping, and evaluation of interactive applications.
  • Module “AUI: Technology”.  This module focuses on personalization issues, i.e., the ability of a user interface to understand user’s needs and to adapt its behaviour to users’ preferences and particular contexts of use. Recommender Systems will be presented in details, as tools to customize the user experience.

Details on each module can be found in the description of the corresponding course. It is recommended, for organizational reason, to enrol separately on each module.

Note Sulla Modalità di valutazione
