Obiettivi dell'insegnamento

- conosce e comprende icome si compie l processo creativo e progettuale partendo dall'idea all'elaborazione di modelli;
- è in grado di presentare il progetto utilizzando strumenti comunicativi opportuni;
- è in grado di interfacciarsi con figure professionali differenti per giungere alla definizione del progetto.

Argomenti trattati

The course is based on a humanistic and professional background. It will combine different aspects of the creative and design model, starting from the spatial model, interacting the objects with the humana proportione, designing them in an appropriate way: historicizing them, making them technologically feasible, drawing them professionally and building the models in different scales.

The course proposes the development of three product design projects:

-an ex tempore project carried out in just one week;
-an exercise on the process that accompanies the elaboration of a product, from the analytical phase that gathers ideas and information, to the synthesis of a concept, to the translation into an executive design, to the choices of production techniques and technologies and, possibly to the commercial communication strategies (packaging, advertising);
-the final thesis for an industrial product represented by detailed executive drawings and possibly by a prototype.

In order to verify the interest and motivations that lead the student to choose this Elective course, at the time of submitting the Study Plan, students must submit a motivational letter by sending a Ticket on the Elective courses - WORKSHOP queue by the submission deadline. of the Study Plan (link https://www.design.polimi.it/en/send-an-email).
The motivational letter will be verified by the Dean’s offices. For the allocation, the merit criteria illustrated in the Study Plan Guide will be applied https://www.design.polimi.it/fileadmin/files/didattica/studiare_design/guide_alla_carriera/20_21/ita/Guida_Piano_degli_Studi_e_allocazioni_2020_2021.pdf).

Following the allocation, 2 extra credits will be included in the study plan, to recognize students' self-employment.

CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION

The assessment of the student will consider:
- the ability to know and understand how the creative and design process is carried out starting from the idea and arriving at the elaboration of models;
- the familiarity with appropriate communication tools for the presentation of the project (methods of representation and skills in verbal communication);
- the ease of interfacing with different professionals in order to define the project.
EXAMINATION METHOD

Public presentations of projects: one for each stage of the course and the final presentation.

Only attending students who will respect the deadlines of the course deliveries will be admitted to the final exams.
