Obiettivi dell'insegnamento

In line with the Unesco Chart recommendations and the disciplinary foundations of the architectural Drawing, the Digi Skills program for the Bachelor aims at providing appropriate digital operational basics in the field of architectural 3D modeling, including the nexus with parametric and BIM modeling, as well as at encouraging the digital fluency necessary to support the architectural design processes and routines, especially focusing on 3D data input, management, and prototyping.

Expected educational outcomes, based on targeted class exercises referred to a small architectural building and its narrow urban context, are competences and operational skills concerning 3D digital modeling, rendering and visualization, 3D data acquisition and management, visual prototyping, graphic prorotying, 3d printing, file intercheange with parametric and BIM environment.

Digiskills for Bachelor program

 

Synopsis

The digi skills program for the bachelor course in architecture design is focused on the digital modeling process of the architectural space, according to the related basic forms and codes, aiming at providing knowledge and skills preparatory to parametric and bim modeling, which will be addressed in the continuation of the curricular path; in line with the architectural design practice, the modeling core is also framed in relation to the acquisition of spatial source data (input) and the visual, graphic, and three-dimensional representation (output) of the prototypes developed; the course is designed in continuity with the digi skills program proposed in the master curriculum

 

Operating system

An update release of Windows is required, to be installed on pc or in a partition on Apple computers; software program used are Rhinoceros, in combination with Meta Shape, QGIS, Unreal Engine, and with Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Professional; basics of Grasshopper and Revit will be part of the program 

 

 Skill Test

In order to connect the various applications in a unitary process, the course exercise will consist of modeling, visualizing and prototyping a test scene, consisting of a small pavilion with furniture located in its narrow urban context (i.e. small urban space between two building fronts), created from various source files, georeferenced, and developed in its parts with appropriate accuracy levels, in line with the expected workload; all the courses will follow the same program and will share the same educational materials; the following list of topics shows the main educational inputs at the base of the operational process proposed

Modalità di valutazione

The 4 credits for digi skills are issued against

> not to exceed a maximum of 3 absences, including class and distance learning activities

> positive outcome of the skill test carried out during the course, within the only evaluation date or the only recovery date available, always scheduled during the lesson time

> registration to the only date provided for the official release of the credits, always scheduled during the lesson time

> credits will not be issued without respecting the abovementioned rules for obtaining them

Student's will be informed in due time about the dates scheduled for skill tests evaluation, recovery, official release of the credits
