Obiettivi dell'insegnamento
The course will develop some lessons about the Italian fashion system, compared to other countries. A workshop will be held, with the aim of developing a collection.

The student will understand the chromatic choices of the fashion world and how to develop a collection linked to new values like social and enviromental sustainability.

Fashion brands are redifining their business models through planning new strategies and ways of offering their goods, underlining new experiential and innovative solutions in order to reach new kinds of costumers while facing the expectations of a new global market which is getting more and more transverse. So brands are moving towards a concept based on lifestyle which at the beginning is affecting the fashion area and then extending to design brands.
This evolution requires a deep knowledge of a system of goods planned around symbols, values and knowledges which put together management, art and crafts skills inspired by art which is typical of the excellence of Made in Italy, that is little by little switching to Lifestyle branding and Italian lifestyle.
In this perspective textile companies besides exploring technological innovations in order to be competitive with companies from countries where the cost of labour is much lower, must find new areas of business like, as an example, the area of interiors.
The course will develop some lessons on the Italian fashion system compared to other countries and then there will be a workshop developing a collection planned for different areas like as an example transports, community spaces, private environments planned for differents cultural areas. Through the workshop the student will understand the chromatic choice of the fashion world, how to develop a collection linked to new values like social and enviromental sustainability.
In fact sustainability isn’t any longer a temporary trend but a new approach to the product and a new way of thinking company links with the world around.
It’s getting more and more a new strategic asset to be developed in order to discover different ways of producing goods deeply linked to a systemic vision where greater and greater care is given to service design.

Modalità di valutazione
Along the course students will be required to make some visits in teams or alone. The final test will be a test with closed multiple choice answers about the visits and the lesson contents which will be followed by the presentation of the team projects and the specific personal contribution.
