Obiettivi dell'insegnamento
The laboratory places as its objective the design of a complex space, stable or temporary, indoors or outdoors, stimulating students to:
understand the briefing
to analyze the context
to elaborate a research
to set up the design answers
Risultati di apprendimento attesi
Students: - know and understand the processes, methods and instruments needed to interpret, in a critical manner, the project themes connected with the Spatial Design sphere; - know how to analyse the reference context and elaborate complex projects for space enhancement; - autonomously and in a group, make and communicate the design choices made, developing an aptitude for negotiation, team building, leadership and conflict management.

FOREWORD
The course will deal with the actions of Landscape and Spatial-Interior Design in complex urban areas, with particular attention to the evolving, intermediate, residual and often neglected spaces, by giving value to the aspects of hospitality of the urban ambience and public spaces.
It will reach it by using different landscape and spatial-interior design tactics and tools, such as: the environmental, functional and aesthetic characteristics; the quality of the interiors; the adaptability and variability of the space interventions; the performances; the natural elements, and overall the relational aspects.
In particular, it intends to explore the role of designing, referring to different interpretative keys:
the time (the relationship time/space/nature and the updating design process)
the different scales of interventions, spatial and temporal
the urbanspaces and interiors as media and services
the natural elements and their multiple varieties
the ephemeral and communicative performances
the role of the public
TIME + SCALE + URBAN + SPACE + INTERIOR + NATURE + PERFORMANCE + PUBLIC = INTERIORSCAPE
The ephemeral/performative components of the project, will be explored in a module of the studio, not only in terms of the temporary aspect of the interventions, but investigating and including the digital and sensitive component of the spatial design. Taking into account a future more and more connected, the physical, material and emotional components along with the quality of the spaces are becoming increasingly important, because further blurred with the virtual one.
STUDIO ACTIVITY and FIELD of INTERVENTION/partnership
The STUDIO will investigate this phenomenon through an actual, critical and experimental approach, testing in which way the natural, physical and ephemeral different design hypothesis could become some of the interiorscapes for the new urban future scenarios.
In particular, the STUDIO will analyze and design the relationships between sport, entertainment, psycho-physical well-being and the natural environment, in a specific Lombard Sport Territorial System > Autodromo Nazionale Monza.
The various interiorscapes would offer the poetics of a storytelling with the juxtaposition and layering of smaller designs into a whole; a composition made of remembrances, shifted contexts, recycled meanings, metamorphoses, future visions, allowing the city to create itself, to read itself and to form its own meanings from unedited or borrowed fragments, towards a continuous update of the sport environments and the landscape.
GOALS
All these different interpretations offer the opportunity to learn and to practice (to design achievable solutions):
the knowledge, cultural and technological, of the interior-spatial design approaches;
the knowledge of the different technologies related to interactive exhibitions, video environment, live performances;
the knowledge of the various aspects, both natural and technological, of the landscape practice design.
The STUDIO foresees the production of experimental models, video and graphic/visual representations aimed to set up a final exhibition.
Prerequisiti
There are no pre-requisites for attendance.
Modalità di valutazione
The course will be set for steps of research and project, each one making up an in-progress evaluation. Grades will be given considering:
quality and originality of the research,
quality and level of innovation of presented topics and design solutions,
quality and "right quantity" of work presented,
quality of communication and presentation,
soft skills (teamwork, team building, problem solving, adaptability, time management, ...).
All these marks will contribute to the final grade of the studio, as well as the real active partecipation in all the didactic activities of the studio (lectures, presentations, visits, tutorials, etc.).
