The teaching is the conclusive moment of the study course, systematizing and verifying the knowledge acquired, applying it through the typical methods of a tender, developing an overall project in the spatial design ambit.

Students:
- are familiar with and understand the processes, methods and instruments required for interpreting in a critical manner the design themes in the widest context of cultural, social and technological transformation;
- know how to elaborate a design, with particular attention on the functional, typological, structural and technical aspects.
- operate and communicate the design choices made independently and in a team, developing an aptitude for negotiation, team building, leadership and conflict management

Contenuti dell’insegnamento
L’attività di progettazione prevista nell’ambito del laboratorio riguarda l’applicazione dei principi di Activity-Base nell’ambito degli spazi per il lavoro – Activity-Based Working– e dell'educazione/formazione – Activity-Based Learning/Teaching– offrendo un vasto repertorio di settings/ambientazioni dove possano essere effettuate attività specifiche e affrancando l’utente da una postazione fissa con dotazioni generiche.  La strategia di allestimento adottata, dunque, si basa sull’uso di cosiddetti ‘Sistemi Ambientali’, cioè di elementi che generano ambienti ‘dentro’ il contenitore architettonico, staccandosi e restando indipendenti da esso, sia per forma che per tecnica costruttiva. L'obiettivo è una ri-funzionalizzazione continuativa degli interni esistenti. 
L’accostamento di attività lavorative ed educative/culturali potrà produrre modelli di ibridazione che, abbinati ad ulteriori servizi e funzioni in risposta alle esigenze del contesto di progetto, possano generare nuove visioni di spazi e paesaggi interni innovativi a livello urbano. L’approccio progettuale adottato integra, infatti, alcune nozioni di Service Design nel processo di progettazione degli interni. Questo permetterà di espandere l’attività di interpretazione del brief attraverso l'integrazione di metodi e strumenti di ricerca etnografica e l'analisi dei fenomeni contemporanei, e di individuare elementi di innovazione nella destinazione e nelle modalità d’uso degli spazi in una prospettiva user-centeredorientata alla progettazione dell'esperienza. 
Il laboratorio prevede inoltre la partecipazione ad un concorso/contest che sarà integrato all’attività di progetto. La relazione con diverse aziende e il confronto con situazioni reali di progetto, saranno elementi caratterizzanti dell’esperienza progettuale.

Obiettivi dell’insegnamento
Gli studenti saranno stimolati a gestire in maniera personale e creativa le diverse fasi del progetto,
dall'analisi di trend e casi studio, alla ricerca sul campo, alla definizione di scenari e concept, fino alla progettazione di dettaglio. Il corso mira a fornire le competenze e gli strumenti utili alla gestione di progetti di interni complessi, rispondendo a esigenze e modalità d'uso degli spazi in linea con le caratteristiche del panorama urbano attuale, sia a livello funzionale che estetico, sapendole interpretare in modo inedito e a partire dall'immersione in un contesto reale quale ambito di progetto.

Teaching contents
The design activity foreseen within the Design Lab regards the application of Activity-Base principles in working areas - Activity-Based Working - and educational/training ones - Activity-Based Learning / Teaching - by offering a vast collection of settings where specific activities can be carried out, freeing the user from a fixed workstation with generic equipment. Thus, the adopted set-up strategy is based on the use of so-called ‘Interior Environments’, i.e. elements that generate habitats ‘in’ the architectural container, separated and independent from it, both in terms of form and construction technique. The goal is to provide a hypothetic continuous re-functionalization process of existing interiors. The combination of work and educational/cultural activities can produce hybridization models that, combined with additional services and functions in response to the needs of the project context, can generate new visions of spaces and innovative landscapes of interiors with reference with the local urban context.
Indeed, the adopted design approach integrates some Service Design concepts in the interior design process. This will allow to expand the interpretation of the brief through the integration of methods and tools of ethnographic research and analysis of contemporary phenomena, to identify elements of innovation in the destination and in the use of spaces, in a user-centered perspective oriented to the design of the experience.
The laboratory also provides for participation in a contest that will be integrated into the project activity. The relationship with different companies and the exchange of views with real project situations will be a characteristic feature of the design process.

Teaching objectives
Students will be encouraged to manage in a personal and creative way the different phases of the project, from analysis of trends and case studies, to field research, to definition of scenarios and concepts, up to detailed design. The lab aims to provide skills and tools useful in the management of complex interior projects, responding to the needs and use of spaces in line with the characteristics of the current urban context, both on a functional and aesthetic level, knowing how to interpret them by an inedited point of view and starting from an immersion in a real project circumstance.

To attend the Final Synthesis Laboratory, students must pass the 1st year laboratories.

Le attività di laboratorio sono organizzate attraverso fasi di sviluppo del progetto che saranno valutate separatamente e concorreranno in modo proporzionale alla valutazione finale. Saranno valutate anche l'interazione con il corpo docenti, la proattività nello svolgimento del progetto e la continuità di presenza e impegno per la durata del laboratorio. 

The studio is based on phases to develop the final outcome. These phases will be separately assessed and will proportionally be part of the final evaluation. Interaction with the teaching staff, proactivity when developing the project and engagement and commitment through the whole design studio will be assessed too.
