Programma dettagliato e risultati di apprendimento attesi

The course mainly contributes to the following Programme Learning Goal:

  • Ability of identifying, structuring, and solving meaningful research questions in the fields of economics, management, and industrial engineering (LG1)

Specifically, the course aims at exposing participants to the state of the art of research on industrial systems about sustainable topics, from different perspectives, in terms of content, theories, approaches and methodologies, and to discuss the challenges for future research in the field. The delivery of the engineering and managerial knowledge and best-practices for a competitive and sustainable manufacturing and supply chain will be a major focus.

The following topics are presented during the course:

  • Industrial Sustainability
  • Measurement of Industrial Sustainability
  • Sustainable Manufacturing
  • Sustainability Oriented Innovation and Entrepreneurship
  • Sustainable Supply Chain

At the end of the course, the students are expected to be able to:

  • identifying research questions, by linking them to extant knowledge for unearthing relevant gaps (ILO1.1)
  • structuring these research questions, also by critically assessing them and by linking them to extant knowledge for unearthing relevant gaps (ILO1.2)
  • solving these research questions, by developing an appropriate theoretical framework and producing rigorous empirical evidence (ILO1.3)

 

 


Note Sulla Modalità di valutazione

The evaluation is based on a written group assignment to be submitted in the form of short-paper, which should cover the critical review of state-of-the art and emerging issues of a research topic in the research area.

Written group assignment 100% of the overall grade, weighting ILO1.1 for 34%; ILO1.2 for 33%; and ILO1.3 for 33%

June 9, 2019: Module 2 - Measurement of Industrial Sustainability.

June 10, 2019: Module 3 - Sustainable Manufacturing.

June 11, 2019: Module 4 - Sustainability Oriented Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

June 12, 2019: Module 5 - Sustainable Supply Chain.
