Issues in the measurement and analysis of socio-economic phenomena.

1 How analytics shapes society: Issues and case studies: Identification of target populations for policy interventions; the design of precision policies; measurement of results and impact evaluation.

2. Data integration, measurement, and the essentials of input-output analysis in economic systems at the international, national and local levels: environmental I-O economics, spillovers; Dynamic and Stochastic I-O analysis;

3. Prediction policy problems vs. causal inference: from machine learning algorithms to econometric solutions for causal inference.

4. Solutions, indicators and methods to analyze social impact.

5. Organizational issues in the analysis of socio-economic interdependencies and policies. The Italian case: managing the interaction with data sources; managing the data value chain; managing interactions with decision makers and policy makers.

Student evaluation will be based on the production and presentation of a short research paper (literature review, research question, empirical investigation).
