Programma dettagliato e risultati di apprendimento attesi

The main mission is to provide an appropriate consciousness in order to face the increasing complexity of energy and environmental challenges that the building sector is facing.

The course combines dynamic (energy) simulation with computational modelling and draws upon the disciplines of heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics, heat transfer, building technology, thermal comfort.

The course is organized in two parts: a general part dealing with basic knowledge of building physics, energy sources (including renewables) and conversion technologies, modelling issues and energy simulation of buildings, and another practical part with SW use in order to accomplish assigned tasks. The presentation of methods and tools includes also the exploration of their key features and limitations.

Note Sulla Modalità di valutazione

Attendance to the at least 6 lectures and preparation of the final deliverable are mandatory.

PhD students have to demonstrate the use of the suggested methods/tools and the learning outcomes will be presented in class by a Power Point and discussed.

A working paper (about 10,000 characters) will be delivered for the final evaluation

Five full days of lectures in February 2020 (dates to be defined) at PoliMI-Leonardo: 

1 lecture of introduction;

3 lectures on the fundamentals;

3 lectures about methods and tools;

2 practical sessions with SW use;

1 discussion and conclusions lecture.
