Obiettivi dell'insegnamento

The course “management for architecture” aims at providing students with the state-of-art, instruments and theoretical frameworks to manage complex organizations (both public and private institutions), embedded in a complex network of relations with other organizations and stakeholders.

The course contributes to the development of the following capabilities:

  • Understand the functions, activities, processes of organizations operating in a complex context of inter-organizational relationships with other organizations and stakeholders
  • Understand and apply the basic managerial tools to plan, lead and control activities and processes of organizations considering the complex network of external actors
  • Design solutions to face managerial problems and opportunities applying a rigorous scientific approach based on analysis, reasoning and modelling capabilities

Risultati di apprendimento attesi

At the end of the course, students:

  • Will know and understand the distinctive features of complex organizations and networks from a managerial point of view; the principal managerial tool to plan and control organization and network activities; the basic economic and financial measures to evaluate and assess results of activities and projects
  • Will be able to apply managerial tools, economic and financial measures to real cases, considering the specific features of the context
  • Will be able to read and interpret the main economic and financial results of organizations, in connection to the trend and specificities of the context

Prerequisiti
 

Modalità di valutazione

The exam consists of three parts:

  • A project work (weight 30% of the final grade), which aims at assessing the students’ capability to apply models and instruments illustrated during the course to real cases
  • A written test (weight 20% of the final grade), which aims at assessing students' knowledge of key concepts, methods and instruments illustrated during the course
  • An oral test (weight: 50% of the final grade), which aims at assessing students’ knowledge and comprehension of the topics illustrated during the course and their capability to design appropriate managerial solution according to the specific setting of a real context.
