Obiettivi dell'insegnamento
This Lab aims at preparing students to:
- Develop a real case related to the decision making in complex system, focusing on the societal challenges and innovative approaches
The course fits into the overall program curriculum pursuing some of the defined general learning goals. In particular, the course contributes to the development of the following capabilities:
Design solutions applying a scientific and engineering approach (Analysis, Learning, Reasoning, and Modeling capability deriving from a solid and rigorous multidisciplinary background) to face problems and opportunities in a business and industrial environment
Develop new ideas and solutions in business and industrial scenarios evolving over time
Interact in a professional, responsible, effective and constructive way in a working environment, also motivating group members

Develop strategies to apply to world cases

During a workshop of a week time the Laboratory focus on the COMPLEX DECISION MAKING PROCESSES
Decision making processes in our interconnected world are sometimes extremely complex.
The topics addressed in the workshop are:
- What the main components are of complex decision making processes; limited power, limited information, dynamics
- How actors, faced with this complexity, act and what effective and ineffective strategies are
- The strategies to deal with this complexity and to apply them to real world cases
- The personal competencies and skills to deal with this complexity
- The cultural differences in the decision making game and to explore these differences
- Haw to understand and use the power of the media in these processes
Prerequisiti
Students are required to know the principles and methods of multistakeholder analysis and management

The examination is articulated into two parts:
1) Deliver the assignment
2) Present and discuss the assignment
