• Soft Skills

The aim of the course is to increase students' communicative flexibility while minimizing the risk factors of misunderstanding and / or relational conflict; on the other hand, stimulating them to acquire a multi-perspective look on the topic of the organization of space, which takes into account the spatial needs of people within the relational dynamic into designing. This course is proposed by the School in a field dedicated to innovative teaching and in particular to soft skills: the course will lead the student in the acquisition and strengthening of transversal skills.

Students:

- know the influence of emotionality in the communication exchanges connected to the Project;

- is able to manage the emotional factor in order to put in place an effective communication;

- is able to clearly communicate himself and the Project in order to avoid misunderstandings.

Purpose of this course is to explore in detail, the NTS - Non Technical Skills - area (personal attitudes) that we all have and which are technically called Soft Skills.

These skills make the difference between you and another individual when developping a professional role.

The course helps students to:

• Gain more awareness of the importance in improving technical skills and the development of professionalism.
• know how to recognize them and above all to understand what to do to improve them and make them your strength point for others acknoledgement: “I’m a leader, I’m able to speak in public, I’m able to negotiate, I know that if I want to achieve a goal, I’m energetic and I can manage the changes…”
• apply useful and effective models, methodologies, tools and techniques to integrate and strengthen the various soft skills

Using an experiential teaching approach in the classroom: (role-play, workshop, history case), the topics will be treated in a functional way in order to develop effective behaviours and strategies for working and professional career development.

The structure of the course involves the subdivision of the NTS into Pillars, with special regards to the following topics:

• Relational Skills:

Communication/Listening (communicative styles), Team working, Leadership, Negotiation

• Cognitive Skills:

Problem Solving, Decision Making, innovation

• Implementing Skills:

Planning organization control, Time Management, Proactivity

• Emotional skills:

management of emotion, stress management, self-efficancy, Locus of control

Bibliography on the topics covered in the different pillars will be released during the course

Compulsory frequency (max 3 absences)

4 group simulations distributed during the course

The final vote will be calculated on the average of the votes in the simulation
