Obiettivi dell'insegnamento
In the Laboratory, students face design themes for the realisation of accessory, clothes and/or collections (men, women, sportswear) in the light of the most recent tendencies and technologies. Students are guided in the realisation of models, digital representation and in the presentation of project results.

Students: - are familiar with and understand the processes, methods and instruments required for elaborating a project in the Fashion circle, in the light of the most recent tendencies and production technologies; - know how to elaborate a design, with particular attention on the functional, typological, structural and technical aspects. - operate and communicate the design choices made independently and in a team, developing an aptitude for negotiation, team building, leadership and conflict management

BRANDS REBORN
In this course the students will be asked to imagine the possible nowadays outcome of several well known fashion brands which - at the time being - are not in work and are not really present in the market.
The students will do a detailed analysis of the ancient brand, its icons, its position in the social and consumers' market, its history.
Then they will design a collection as a fresh new interpretation of the brand as a workgroup (design studio) and tailor an outfit as single work (fashion designer).
The course will consist in:
- Design a collection for women and/or menswear
- Tailoring of the items of the collection
- Pattern making (digital - by 2 and 3D software)
- Visual communication of the brand identity of the collection that will lead to a new launch of the restyled brand. It is requested a proficient knowledge of the 2D graphic software: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign and the basics of a video editing software.
It will be of major importance:
- to implement new technologies in the project (3D design and 3D printing; laser cut, smart devices etc.) - to consider eco responsible materials and/or production, including ethic labour organization
The course will consist in: - Design collection for womenswear and/or menswear - Tailoring of the items of the collection - Pattern making (digital by 2D and 3D software) and 3D modelling.
It is requested basic knowledge of a 2D pattern making software (Modaris or Gerber) and basics of a 3D modelling software (Rhinoceros) - Visual communication of the brand identity of the collection that will lead to a new launch of the restyled brand. It is requested a proficient knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign, and the basics of a video editing software.
Prerequisiti
There are no pre-requisites for attendance.

The evaluation criteria will be based on creativity and design coherence considering the three main aspects of the course:
- fashioin design
- pattern making and tailoring
- communication
