ARCHITECTURE OF INTERIORS THEMATIC STUDIO
Title ARCHITECTURAL VARIATIONS CAUSED BY NEW TECHNOLOGIES Video presentation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuPlOsGMpA4
The present teaching program is willing to explore the influences of new technologies in the contemporary spaces. In the last 30 years, the developing technology such us Internet and the use of computers, has radically change architectural spaces. From the domestic to urban scale, besides entertainment, services and labor.
Students will think about and built contemporary spaces, helped by architecture history and taking special consideration to the turning points specifically produced by technological discovery , since Stone Age to carbon fiber.
In this case of study, the transformations is possible because of descentralized information and communication networks (mobile, transport, data...) which allow a global world in what used to be heterogeneous.
Ex 1_EXTENDED HABITAT
Format: A3 paper
Each student must hand-in one A3 document*.
*The drawing-image-plan-diagram-text must represent the Extended Habitat of each student. This is a reflexion about the ordinary space he/she is usually living (BEDROOM - HOME - BULDING - HOOD - CITY) but making a change in the space, designing a new room using new technologies combining virtual and real.
Ex 2_ CROWDSOURCING
Format: A3 paper
Each student must hand-in three A3 documents*.
*Contemporary buildings should be randomly assigned to the students for analisys.
Ex 3_MEET-UP
Format: A3 paper
Each student must hand-in three A3 documents*.
*Proposal for a music event with capacity limited to 50.000 people. The scheme must consider technology and constructive aspects.
Each student will choose a musician for the concert. It will conditionate the project decisions.

Ex 4.1_#HASHTAG 3x3x3
Format: A3 paper
Each student must hand-in three A3 documents*.
*A matrix of 9 pictures will be included in each document. These matrix must correspond to three different design approaches and must be tagged.
Matrix 1_physical context
Matrix 2_interesnting program and activities
Matrix 3_obsessions, personal interests and references of each student
Ex 4.2_PEER TO PEER
Format: A3 paper + 1 model
Each student must hand-in two A3 documents + 1 model.
PLAN 1_Drawing (free technique)
PLAN 2_Plan and section fo the scheme (the scale is a student decison it must occupied the whole paper space)
MODEL 1_Model of the proposal (define scale and orientation in aim to define a macro model within all the student models, A3 size)
EJ 4.3_#CLICK and COLLECT 3x3x3
Format: 3 x A3 paper
Each student must hand-in three A3 documents*.
*After mapping the entire site and showing all the student proposals, each student will freely choose three intervention areas. Each intervention area will have three hashtags of the dictionary. This is the starting point of three program proposals.
PLAN 1_Program proposal 01 with the chosen intervention area and the 3# chosen
PLAN 2_Program proposa 02 with the chosen intervention area and the 3# chosen
PLAN 3_Program proposa 03 with the chosen intervention area and the 3# chosen
FH1_FINAL HAND IN 1
Format: 6 x A3 paper + 1 model
Each student must hand-in six A3 documents*.
*List of documents FH1:
FH1.1_ Design abstract (Max: 250 words + 3# to sum up the proposal).
FH1.2_Site Plan
FH1.3_Diagram or 3D image of the design program (uses)
FH1.4_Indoor spatial proposal: Drawing, Photomontage, Model, etc.
FH1.5_Technology diagram + construction detail
FH1.6_Free technique drawing of the scheme (Plans, seccitions, axonometry, etc)
MFH1_Proposal model of the relationship within the site and the scheme (A3 size)
