In the Autumn semester 2016 the design assignment will be to develop a project for a kindergarten on one of three milanese's sites, in three different areas of Milan.
As in the past, we will encourage a collaborative method of working where students work in pairs.
The studio work wants to find continuities with an architecture before modernism, and together including non orthodox milanese modernist experience as another context where refer to.
Investigations will extend over proportion, ornament, typology, interiors and façades, colour, and relationship with existing buildings.
School projects will seek for breadth and intimacy against their common loss in globalisation processes.
Design will reveal how rich and diverse a contemporary architecture rooted in continuity and a common culture can be.

Assessment procedure Description
Final Oral presentation of the submitted work • theoretical questions on topics covered in the programme • questions intended to reveal the student's ability to connect the various topics covered in the programme with one another and with previous studies
• questions intended to reveal the student's ability to explain design principles and theorethical issues
Studio work will be evaluated all along the semester through reviews of the student work.
Each intermediate delivery will be evaluated separately.
Final grade will consider the whole trayectory together with the final work.
