The correct sizing of a computer system, from small-scale installations to large-scale datacenters, allows the delivering of top-quality services while keeping hardware cost under control. Performance evaluation techniques are required to find the optimal compromise between hardware costs and quality of service.
The course is structured in theoretical and practical lessons.
Theoretical lessons provide an overview on queuing network models that are the building blocks for the performance evaluation of IT systems.
Practical lessons provide an overview of the performance aspects of modern computer systems and provide examples of performance management based on real world tools.
