Programma dettagliato e risultati di apprendimento attesi

Contemporary Architecture seem to request earlier choices in terms of technologies and materials, due to different factors: higher project control, innovative systems and components coming from a mature construction industry, need to shorten time construction while guaranteeing flexibility in use, life cycle and mantainance forecast and last but not least budget constrains and environmental issues.

Foreseeing technological and construction issues means to enlarge knowledge and have to ability to deal with different technologies and figures at the different stages of an architectural project.

This studio aims at giving knowledge and skills to exploit contemporary technologies with a particular reference to dry assembly technologies and light weight construction. Students will be request to develop a housing project from early design to site activities.

The course will be organized in three different didactic moments: lectures by teachers and representatives of construction sector, short exercises and workshop project.

The objective is to give students tools to integrate technology in design from the early stage, widening their knowledge horizon and increasing their capacity to integrate architectural, functional and technological aspects.
