Goal of the course is to introduce basic and advanced concepts of MEMS gyroscopes design, including technology, sensor and electronics.
MEMS gyroscopes are currently employed in consumer (smartphones, cameras), automotive applications (stability control, roll-over detection) and further spread is envisioned in the same or other fields (e.g. biomedical and space applications) at improved performance.
The course therefore, starting from background and state-of-the-art, highlights current limits and traces guidelines for novel approaches in terms of technologies and working principle
The course will also make students aware of the lively environment in the MEMS research and industrial field in the Milano area. |
