Programma sintetico |
This course will focus on cardiovascular technologies and the different needs to bring them to clinical use. Topics to be covered are experimental methodologies (e.g., macro to micro, patient-specific, animal, clincical),
computational approaches including validation and verification steps, cellular interactions and reactions (e.g., platelet activation, thrombosis, hemolysis), and regulatory considerations. The course will involve lectures and case studies and a virtual presentation from a US FDA colleague.
At the completion of the course, students will have an appreciation and understanding of the challenges and opportunities that exist in developing cardiovascular technologies with particular emphasis on in vitro and in silicon testing and validation schemes. Specifically, the role that each approach plays in meeting regulatory requirements. |
