Programma sintetico |
Bioengineering can offer support of great importance to forensic investigations, in particular in disputes dealing with human injury or safety problems.
While in the past this expertise was confined to medical competencies, nowadays bioengineering experts are often involved in such investigations.
The multidisciplinary bioengineering skills in quantitative assessment, in the use of biomechanical models and established scientific methods, can provide significant support for clarifying the events that occurred in forensic disputes. This course aims to provide information on bioengineering methods and models suitable to support legal experts involved in forensic investigations.
Preliminarily, the legal roles that can be played by a bioengineer involved in litigation will be deeply analyzed, enlightening the duties and responsibilities he will have to face. Secondly, the course will focus on biomechanical models and methods for the evaluation of legal cases involving impact biomechanics, play-sports equipment, and medical device failures, illustrating real cases faced in previous experiences. |
