Programma sintetico Health refers to an individual and collective status, strongly influenced by the environmental context or by local governments' policies. The connection between morphological and functional features of urban context and Public Health is a crucial and contemporary aspect. Urbanization and cities shaping provide substantial opportunities for Public Health prevention and promotion, but can also represent risks factors. Urban Health is not only medical approach related to environmental diseases, but is a social and sustainable approach. For this reason, it is important to: - understand Evidence Based Design processes; - identify reliable methodologies for conducting research in the field of built environment and design; - identify the strategies to reduce environmental risks factors; - encourage city users' Healthy Lifestyles; - identify new evaluation tools to address experienced-based Healthy Design Strategies for the contemporary European cities. Researchers and Practitioners, both of technical and medical education, identified the need of an interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary approach, in order to address the main health problems of the city and of contemporary society; there is a need PhD Program in Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering ABCPhD Course catalogue 21/22 8 of joint action in order to involve communities starting from the professionals themselves. The PhD Course is aimed to take into account Healthcare Design, Urban Health and Environmental Sustainability topics since the early stages of research planning, which could serve as primary prevention and collaboration in promoting health, highlighting the need for a holistic approach to the built environment research and design.
