MISSION AND GOALS:
To understand the fundamentals of Business Process Management from the design, to the enactment, till the improvement with a specific emphasis on methods, tools, and platforms able to support these phases.
To learn the role of a BPMS as a tool for orchestrating different activities also involving software modules. To study the process mining as the application of data mining techniques to discover, validate, and improve business processes.
To investigate the current open questions concerning the modeling of resilient processes, the distributed process monitoring, and the process automation
SUBJECT AND PROGRAMME OF THE COURSE:
Introduction on Business Process Management: goals, mains steps in the lifecycle, current IT approaches and solutions
Business Process Modeling: existing approaches, modeling with imperative (e.g., BPMN) and declarative (e.g., CMMN) languages Business Process verification: structural soundness and soundness verification with PetriNets
Business Process Management Systems: architecture and current approaches
Process mining: relation with Data Science, main algorithms and solutions tested with the usage of PROM: a tool for mining processes.
Advancement in BPM:design-time and run-time adaptive business process management, types of flexibility, BPM in Cyber Physical Systems |
