Our mission is to provide a compact introduction to the field to anyone who needs to communicate something to someone using data. The goal of the course is to provide the students with the knowledge, skills and resources required to make sense of data, design effective visualizations, and tell stories from data. At the end of this course, students should be able to: (i) understand basic principles of data visualization and evaluate existing visualizations; (ii) select the visualization methods and design styles that best apply to different kinds of data; (iii) create effective visualizations from data by using some of the most popular tools available.
