Programma sintetico The course provides an overview of advanced techniques for modelling the behaviour of (bio)chemical reactors, looking at various application fields (environmental engineering, chemical engineering, ) and considering different approaches and process scales. SYNTHETIC PROGRAM: Fundamentals of (bio)chemical reactor engineering Different approaches for (bio)chemical reactor modelling (black-box and stochastic modelling, deterministic multi-physical modelling, multi-scale and integrated modelling) Elements of process monitoring, modelling and control Case-studies on different applications (CFD modelling of fluid dynamics, radiation transfer and process kinetics in UV-driven processes, modelling of combined suspended and fixed biomass bioreactors, black-box reactor modelling based on artificial neural networks, ).
