The course is aimed to analyses the linkages between water and food security. Starting with an overview of the concept of water and food security the course looks at the influence of water security in food security. The course will consist of 4 seminars addressing themes aimed at the comprehension of the food security nexus that are: a) the virtual water concept and the water footprint metric; b) The virtual water trade; c) The influence of the large scale Foreign Direct Investment in Agricultural land on water resources and water security; c) The influence of virtual water trade and Foreign Direct investment in agriculture on food security. |
