Course Description |
Elastoplastic materials: constitutive laws, structure and deformation of polycristal solids, aluminium alloys, titanium, magnesium, steel, refractory metals, special and super alloys; thermal treatments; corrosion.
Hyperelastic materials: constitutive laws; elastomers chemical structure; natural and synthetic rubbers; thermosetting and thermoplastic elastomers; typologies and applications.
Viscoelastic materials: constitutive law; chemical structure of polymers; models; relaxation and viscous flow; thermosetting and thermoplastic polymers; typologies and applications. Ablative materials,
refractories for thermal protections. Material for thin films and transparents.
Elastofragile orthotropic materials: constitutive law, lamination theory, strength criteria, residual higrotermic stresses, edge and notch effects; fibres, matrixes, foams, honeycombs. Composite material with long and short fibres.
Composite materials with: polymeric (PMC), metallic (MMC), ceramic (CMC) matrices.
Hybrid composites: Glare and Arall. Glasses and ceramics.
Smart materials: composites with fibre optics, shape memory alloys, piezo-electric ceramics and polymers.
Bio-materials: wood and natural fibres. Hard tissues: corthical and sponge bones. Soft tissues: skin, cartilage, tendons and ligaments. |
