The course resents the foundations and the state of the art in research on high-performance parallel computing in its application to multibody system dynamics in relation with various fields of engineering. In particular, the course presents some key problems in massive multibody dynamics: collision detection, granular dynamics, massive Differential Variational Inequality problems and related computational challenges; analyzes hardware and software design implications; illustrates and trains hands-on in the development of software that exploits massive parallelism using General Purpose GPU (GPGPU) and other parallelization paradigms (OpenMP, MPI). |
