This course is designed to acquaint students with the knowledge of organization theories and emerging management models. The seminar will focus on organizational effectiveness and the evolution of organization and management thought, the design and management of socio-technical systems, organization design and change, the design and management of sustainable organizations. The pedagogy of the course will include a mix of lectures, review and critical discussion of recently published articles and/or chapters about the topic areas covered by students. We view this part of the course to be of direct relevance to the PhD candidate dissertation/research work. As such, participants will be expected to write a paper within the broad area of OTD that can be connected to both the material covered in the course and candidates' research. |
